Organelle Marker In eukaryotic organisms, many of the cell's complex biochemical functions are compartmentalized and isolated in organelles. Membrane-bound organelles, which include the nucleus, mitochondria, and Golgi complex, are generally semi-enclosed and exist to isolate certain chemicals, maintain internal pH, or facilitate specific molecule-molecule interactions.
